HTMLScanner
Overview. HTML scanner allows localization of HTML documents along with texts from any embedded scripts in them.
The most important settings are the following:
- Base directory (Project tab); specifies the (root) directory where the file(s) to localize are located.
- Localized file name mask (Project tab); allows specifying one or multiple files (with wildcards).
- Native encoding (Encodings tab); set this correctly so that Multilizer reads country-specific scripts correctly.

Project
Base directory specifies the (root) directory for the location of HTML files.
Process subfolders allows user to specify whether to pick localizable files directories under base directory.
Localized file name mask allows user to specify one file or multiple files to localize. Multiple files are specified with wildcard masks. Multiple masks are separated with semicolons. E.g., *.html;*.asp;*.php.
Output file name coding specifies the name of localized (output) files. The localized files are created in subdirectories under root directory.
Copy non-localizable files allows scanner to copy non-localized files (bitmaps, binaries, etc.) under the output directory.
Localize embedded scripts allows scanner to pick strings from embedded scripts, such as strings literals from JavaScript.
Update references allows scanner to modify relative paths so that they work correctly in localized files.

These settings allow uploading of localized files after build.
Encodings
Native language. Specifies the native language that is used in the target . Set this to match the language in the original user interface. If the original user interface contains two or more languages mixed, set the language to most widely used.
Default language. Specifies the default language. It is the language that is used in the build process, if there is no translation given in the the build language. The translation search order is following: first the build languages, then the country neutral languages (if the build language is country specific), then the default language. If no translation is found then the native value is used. For example if the project contains English, German and German (Austria) and the build language is German (Austria) and the default language is English the search order is German (Austria) - German - English - native.
Native encoding. Specifies the native texts encoding so that scanner reads (scans) the texts correctly.
Encoding list. Contains the encodings to be used in the localized files. To change the value right click the line and select a new value.
Excluded files
User can specify on this tab a list of files that are not localized. This is useful, if you have specified Localized filename mask with wildcards.
